Henry Weiland discovered a possible comet on CCD images taken with the ATLAS search system on 25 may. After he posted this on the PCPP of the minor planetcenter, i decided to use a remote telescope to see this object as my confirmation for this possible comet. I could see this moving object on my CCD-images and reported this to the minor planetcenter as well. On 31 may 2018 was this object assigned as comet C/2018 K1 (WEILAND).
