during this short clear sky (after rain) i started with some observations of comets: C/2018 N2 (ASASSN), C/2019 K7 (SMITH), also 2 object mentioned on the PCCP. Both objects could be detected. one ot them is the new comet C/2020 T4 (PANSTARRS), other object is at this moment assigned yet. With the LHiResIII, i could obtain 1 spectrum ov V442 And. After a while i must close the observatory due high clouds and fog that came up.
spectroscopic observation on 11 oct.
Between the showers and clouds there was an occasional clearing and I used it to record a spectrum of 14 Lac. Unfortunately, those short periods were too short to take additional spectra.
spectroscopic observation on 10 oct.
We have been struggling here with rain and heavy clouds for a long time. This evening I suddenly saw a clear sky and immediately opened the observatory to record some spectra: gam Cas (H-alpha detail), HD 18552, pi Aqr. Unfortunately I had to close the observatory after about 1.5 hours due to rising clouds.
spectroscopic observation on 3 oct.
During a short period of clear skies, I was able to record a spectrum of 18 Lyr with C11 + LHiResIII spectrograph.
spectroscopic observations on 22 sept.
there were clouds that are coming over and high clouds are disturbing, so i decided to skip the comet observations and only try to take some spectra of stars: gam Cas (HeI @6678 Å), V2119 Cyg, V2136 Cyg.
Comet and spectroscopic observations on 21 sept.
comet and spectroscopic observations on 20 sept.
again a clear night but lower transparancy (more lightpollution effects). i did some comet observations: 8P, 11P, 29P, 58P, 215P, 257P, A/2019 U5, C/2017 B3, C/2017 K2, C/2018 U1, C/2019 K7, C/2019 L3, C/2019 O3, C/2020 P3, C/2019 Q1, C/2019 T3, C/2019 U6, C/2020 N1, C/2020 Q1, C/2020 S3 (new comet). High resolution spectra that are taken are: 28 Cyg, gam Cas (H-alpha), gam Cas (HeI @ 6678Å), 58 Cyg, V2139 Cyg, 25Peg (HD 210129).
comet and spectroscopic observations on 18 sept.
comet which are observed during this evening with clear night but moderate transparancy are: 8P, 11P, 29P, 257P, A/2019 U5, C/2017 B3, C/2017 K2, C/2018 U1, C/2019 K7, C/2019 L3, C/2019 Q1, C/2019 T3, C/2019 U6, C/2020 N1, C/2020 P3, C/2020 Q1. High resolution spectra are taken of: V764 Cas, V442 And, HD 21362 and stars for instr. respons: Altair and 37 Cas.
spectroscopic observations on 17 sept.
Due to too much wind I could unfortunately not start observations of comets. I can, however, use the C11 and LHiRes-III for high resolution spectroscopy. This setup is in a dome and therefore more resistant to gusts of wind. Stars that were observed are: gam Cas for HeI @ 6678Å, (as a test another nearby star was also taken for the instr. response), HD 24479, HD 4180, eps Cas.
comet and spectroscopic observations on 16 sept.
It turns out to be a good night for sightings, although there are sometimes veiled clouds. I started observing comets but after 5 comets I had to interrupt the observations because of clouds and gusts of wind. comets that I could observe: 8P, 11P, A/2019 U5, C/2019 L3, C/2019 O3. Simultanously i started spectroscopic observations with C11 + LHiResIII for high resolution : gam Cas for HeI detail @ 6678Å, gam Cas for H-alpha detail, HD 21362, phi And.
